Review About Peter's Blog

About Peter,

Reading Peter's blog inspired me with different methods and ideas for teaching English. Pete shares reflections and practical ideas for EAL instruction, including activity suggestions, assessment tools, and more.

Content and Features 💓

ELT Planning is a blog dedicated to providing various resources for educators in the fields of English Language Teaching (ELT) and English as an Additional Language (EAL ). This fantastic blog includes many lesson ideas, development tips, and reflections on materials writing. It also provides effective strategies for leading EAL in international schools. Not only that, but ELT Planning also serves as a valuable resource for new and experienced teachers.

 Organisation & Layout 👀

The layout is clear but could be improved by showing necessary resources or popular posts to make it a more interesting homepage. Also, more visual elements, such as pictures and videos, should be added to make them more engaging. Another thing I noticed is the use of gloomy dark colours like black, grey and white butted me in a bad mood.

Ease of Use and Navigation 👀

When I entered the blog for the first time, I felt lost as I was navigating for subheadings for each section. For example, the homepage could be more apparent by adding a highlighted content section to be more engaging. Furthermore, the top menu feels slightly limited. I think he should consider adding a drop-down menu to make it easier for visitors to navigate. However, I like the idea of using a search bar in the right-hand corner, which makes it easier for visitors to search for what they exactly want.

Target Audience 😎

The blog directly targets teachers, especially those involved in English Language Teaching or English as an Additional language.

Summary 😍

ELT Planning is a well-structured blog for English teachers. It provides practical insights into lesson planning and material development. The design and colour scheme could be improved to make it more visually engaging. Overall, it serves as a valuable tool for educators around the world.

  2. This blog review is positive overall. I was able to clearly express your approval of Peter's blog, especially the high praise for teaching resources and teaching reflection. The article is logically clear and analyzes from multiple angles such as content, organization, and ease of use, which allows me to fully understand the strengths and weaknesses of the blog.
In terms of strengths, you emphasize the practicality of the blog, especially for English teachers, and mention specific resource types, such as classroom activities, assessment tools, etc., which is very attractive to readers.
Overall, this reflection is friendly and organized, taking into account both affirmation and suggestions for improvement.

  3. Hi Mashael - unfortunately it looks like my first comment on your post here disappeared! However I want to make sure it is on the record that I really like your first post - you have the right tone and attitude. I love the emojis after your subtitles! Roxy has given you a very full comment and feedback and I echo her comments. I just have one suggestion for improvement of future posts. Make sure that you introduce your topic - don't assume that your reader knows! Here you talk about 'Pete' as if we already know who he is. So although you introduce the blog very well, we could have done with more information about the authaor (or at least know whether there was not much to be known about him!). I look forward to reading your whole blog, well done on a great start.

  4. Hi Mashael! I really liked how you highlighted both the strengths and areas for improvement in Peter’s blog. Your comments on the content were especially helpful—it's great to know the blog offers practical ideas for EAL instruction and supports both new and experienced teachers. I also appreciated your feedback on the layout and navigation. You made a good point about the visual design—adding more colour, images, or featured posts could definitely make the homepage more inviting.
